World famous choral group Chanticleer head out on tour
The world-renowned, Grammy Award-winning twelve-man vocal ensemble Chanticleer bring their hauntingly brilliant harmonies and repertoire on tour! Known as an "orchestra" of voices due to the group's incredible sound, not to mention the jaw-dropping talent of each of the twelve singers, their eclectic repertoire includes forgotten gems and popular works from the medieval period to the 19th century and beyond, and as such, has seen them perform the world over. Don't miss what is sure to be a throughly entertaining masterclass in choral recital.
Formed in 1978 by Louis Botto and taking its name from the medieval folk tale Chanticleer and the Fox, Chanticleer have brought choral music throughout the ages back to life in virtuosic style, selling millions of records and winning Grammy Awards in the process. With a repertoire that includes Gregorian chant and other ancient music from the middle ages, classical masterpieces, jazz, gospel and even pop music, the decorated ensemble's most popular works include John Tavener's Lamentations and Praises and the 1999 contemporary choral album Colors of Love.
